Natural Cures For Intestinal Parasites In Dogs

Natural Cures  for Intestinal Parasites in Dogs

I am only going to cover some basics since I do not use 100% natural methods to deworm, I use a safe drug in addition. I prefer to use some great methods to decrease intestinal parasites and add a boost to my Cane Corsos immune system. My #1 method to boost my dogs immune system is NUVET plus. It works very well and I give it daily to my pups and dogs. I have seen an amazing boost in their immune system health. Boosting the overall immune system is a sure first step to fighting off parasites.

Household toxins, fertilizers, pesticides, and even many of today’s pet foods leave your pet’s immune system susceptible. Regular and even premium brand pet foods can contain toxins, bad bacteria, and “meat by-products” (an industry term for anything other than meat). Other common ingredients are fillers like corn, wheat and barley. These food ingredients and other environmental factors are prime sources for poor health in your pet.

Worms

As many of you may know we never want to think about the fact that most dogs will have worms at some point and almost all pups will.

What Causes Worms?
This is a topic that many so called “Vet professionals” just do not know the answer. Fact is our diet has changed over the years and I feel one of the major causes of this is the diet we feed our dogs and puppies in the USA. Sugars and yeast is primarily what many worms and other parasites will feed on. For starters you can decrease the food you give to these nasty little critters (parasites) by giving a good grain free food like Lifes Abundance no grain, this is the kibble I use.

The most common sign of an intestinal worm infestation is white, squiggly worms in your pet’s stool.

Other symptoms may include vomiting, diarrhea, weight loss, dull coat, increase in appetite with no weight gain, anemia, mild to severe coughing and scratching at the base of their tail.

The types of worms that dogs can suffer from include tapeworms, roundworms, hookworms, threadworms, and heartworms, to name a few. Most of these worms infest a dog’s intestinal tract, although they can also affect other organs.

Regardless of the type of worm, the best remedy is prevention. Hence, it is important to keep your dog from eating feces, including his own. Do not allow your pet to drink water from ponds, streams or lakes.

At the same time, there are many simple home remedies to treat your dog for worms.

home remedies for intestinal worms in dogs

Here are the top 10 home remedies for intestinal parasites (worms) in dogs.

1. Pumpkin Seeds ( I show this in my video)

Pumpkin seeds contain a deworming compound ‘cucurbitacin’, an amino acid that aids in expelling tapeworms and roundworms from your dog’s intestine.

Cucurbitacin paralyzes the worms, thus preventing them from holding on to the intestinal walls during a bowel movement. Soon, the worms will get expelled from the digestive tract.

2 – Organic Food Grade Diatomaceous Earth

Food-grade diatomaceous earth can also help eliminate worms, such as roundworms, whipworms, and hookworms. However, it is not effective against tapeworms.

DE is deadly to many insects, yet completely harmless to animals. The microscopically sharp edges of DE pierce the parasites’ protective coating, which causes dehydration and death.

To control fleas, which can cause worms, simply rub the DE powder into your dog’s coat. Wait 10 minutes, then bathe your dog. Use it 2 times a week, or as desired.

4. Coconut Oil

This is not a product I use to directly eliminate worms, however a lot of research you find will point to the fact that it is anti parasitic. I can say it boosts my dogs immune system and their coats are amazing!

5. Turmeric

Turmeric is an anti-inflammatory as well as a anti parasitic. Tumeric helps reduce inflammation and the damage to the intestine caused by a worm infestation. This herb also heals the areas of the intestines that were infested with worms.

It also helps the liver get rid of the toxins left behind in the body by the intestinal worms.

6- Cranberry
This is an amazing cure for several different intestinal infections, everything from Giardia to Hpylori. It is also very effective in keeping your dogs urinary track healthy.
